About Me
In Short
My name is Adrien Fiand, I am a French 23 Years old guy. I am moving forward in the network and systems world. Fast learner and hard worker, I am a critical thinker who likes to solve problems. I am very dedicated to what I do and take pride in qualitative work. I like to broaden my skills by doing labs, pursuing little projects and passing certifications. When I'm not around computers you should find me in or around cars!
How did it start ?
Since I was a child, I have been interested in building and fixing things. I would rip stuff apart trying to understand how it works... My journey with computers started at age 12, with two dead computers from the recycling center. After numerous tries messing around, swapping the parts, it booted.
I had my first computer! Except that it didn't last long... I had placed the motherboard on the metal of the panels. Everything fried, it was such a disappointment but thanks to that tenacity my parents ended up buying me a used one.
Where am I now ?
2022 Graduate of a French IT Engineering School : 5-year program where the pedagogy is not so common (Problem Based Learning), hence why I chose it. We didn't listen to a teacher passively, instead we were given enterprise like problems to solve in small groups.
I am currently part of the Network Projects team at a Service Provider. My primary responsibilities revolves around the BUILD aspect (Audit, Staging, Integration), but I also handle tasks related to the RUN (Maintenance, Change) aspect of our client infrastrucure
What about the future ?
What I enjoy the most is building and troubleshooting infrastructures. This includes networking, but I also find some interests in the CORE systems/services (AD, DNS, DHCP...).
On a more personal side, for a few years now my goal has been to relocate and settle down in North America which attracts me a lot: work ethic, diversity, landscapes, architectural design, car community... Interestingly enough, I prefer English over French (my native language), it's less complicated, easier to learn. I find it more pleasant to use!
